"New World Order" You’re getting older looking forward to lose there’s nothing smaller than a soul feeling blue. New world order time is on its way you waited for her yea, I had high hopes the same. You better step up now you better talk in tongue again your living hard and how but I can't teach you anything. You’re living in the dark you’re barefoot doctor's gone away so come on light the fires before we lose our living flames. Written by Mark DK Berry 2003

"We'll Meet Again" There was a time, yours and mine once when we were friends It's too late now, we cant go back have our time again The changes come, can't be undone the poison's in our veins but I know you , wish we could and that’s where we begin Do you recall the rise and fall of how our story went? I’m thinking now there’s so much more to why we ever met Oh sunny days, I wont forget and time that would not stay. We had our chance to get it right and then it was taken away Now here we are, miles apart yet wondering the same. We’ll get it right one day soon and then we’ll meet again There was a time, yours and mine once when we were friends It's too late now, we cant go back have our time again This beautiful world is all we’ve got this beautiful time for living in. Nothing we did will be forgot but nothing we did meant anything. So tell me now before this ends there really is a way to have our time and make the most of all we dreamed today written by Mark DK Berry - 2003

"Can You Handle It?" This feeling inside, you know I wont deny you the music tonight makes me feel I might like to give up my body and give up my mind to the one who can make me feel passion, it’s true. You play all the time with the forces of nature you’ve had your whole life to face up to the future I'll take only diamonds, accept only pearls do you dare put yourself in the hands of this beautiful girl? You're the one who can touch me in all the right places Will you leave me to be when I’m dancing with strangers? Will the smile on your face be the smile in your eyes? Will you give the whole world and not give me a fight? Then the beat of the drum will turn us two to one come on move in the rhythm, move close to me, come let the daylight forget us, enchantment might let us dance in the magic and live our whole lives in the song * Can you handle it? Can you handle it? I can be all the woman, you be all the man Can you handle it? Can you handle it? Everyone says that you can’t, maybe you think that you can. Handle it. Written by Mark DK Berry - 2003 (Written for a female vocal)

"Resurrection Is Upon Me" Heaven hath no salvation, and I already know Hell. She takes the blood from my body, and the lust from my soul. You took my fucking liberty, I come to claim it back. An eye for an eye, isn’t that what you said? Yea? Then so be it. Take the chains from my mind. Give me back my power. Sex and Death are all I have, and my command it will be done now. Where can you hide, oh Judas mind? Do you lie to me now? I no longer fear your ignorance. My blade is my loin. Allelujah my God! My Spirit, I will command. Heaven hath no salvation, and I already know Hell. She takes the blood from my body, and the lust from my soul You took my fucking liberty, I come to claim it back. An eye for an eye, isn’t that what you said? Yea? Then so be it. Take the chains from my mind. Give me back my power. Sex and Death are all I have. Resurrection is upon me. My blade is my loin. "The Crusades" (A War Poem) Live by the sword, die by the sword Ain't that what they say? They've got your name on a computer That's the powers that be Stand up and be counted You'll go down in history But they've got a hidden agenda And they call it the Crusades. Death to the enemy means Death for all our sons Can someone please explain to me Why kids want to play with guns Can any one man find a way to stop these bloody wars These are the Crusades my friend And we've lost them all before They're out on night manoeuvres And they're out to stop the foe And when this war is over then they'll make their way back home To find their children high on crime And their women slept around Their houses robbed and there's no jobs In this town to be found. So tell me what you're doing there And tell me what you've done To make this world a better place for you or anyone Murdering for government Is the price you're willing to pay Because they've fooled you into thinking That you're part of a Crusade I can't give you solution And I can't give you a way To solve the riddle of our lives Or bring us peace today But I'll tell you now as you walk round The streets of your home town If you want to change the world Then that's where you'll be found. Talk to strangers, know your friends Get to know the man Fear roams our streets at nights It's time to hunt it down If you can't face your enemy How then can you say It's right to kill the people In a country far away I lived by the sword I'll die by the sword I feel my guilt and shame But I'm ready to lay down my guns if you will do the same In the heart of my community I see fear, theft, and rape How can you put up with this for even one more day. So gather round and tell your friends We fly the flags tonight We find a way to settle this coz the punishment ain't right The criminals and rapists and tyrants in our way It's time the truth came out and it's the only way we'll win The Crusades Written by Mark DK Berry - 2002

Dolphins 03:04
"Dolphins" Dolphins, the smartest fish in the sea, That's what I think of when I think of you and me. We've got one life and one life only, Not afraid to show our hearts on our sleeve, Not afraid to ask what becomes of you and me. I'm getting older now and the lyrics start to fail me, But I light a candle in the dark and then I see clearly, Right through to the other side, Remember over there? Yeah, that's a place we have been. Nightclubs, hard drugs, high times, Seeing a strange kind of reality, opened our eyes, We knew we'd found our spiritual family, We wondered what it all could mean, Didn't want to leave, didn't want to leave. It's okay to stop sometimes, lie down and wonder, Just how we're going to get ourselves free, They say the power of death is some kind of release, They say the power of love will set us free, And finally, I am starting to see what they mean. Dolphins, the smartest fish in the sea, That's what I think of when I think of you and me, Thoughts fly free over the sea, When I let go to this, I enter the dream. I've got a question for you, For the times when you are flying high, When you understand what I am saying and you know why, It's like we forget this place we've been, When we let down our guards, relax completely. I remember those times, I see it still alive in your eyes, Because some part of you remains untainted and clean, And I tell you this because you've always been a true friend to me. Written by Mark DK Berry - 2003

about

A selection of Indie genre songs from my back catalog of lost mixes.

These were mixes lost in a computer crash in 2004. All that was left behind were the early stage mix-downs, and I can't see myself having the time to re-write or re-record the tracks. For whatever reason, I liked them enough to attempt a mastering rescue and publish them here.

I was coming to the end of doing "live music" but didn't know it yet.
Around 2001, I began focusing on learning music production and gradually leaning towards doing solo work live. I wasn't very comfortable with it, having been used to playing in 3 or 4 piece bands since I was 14.
"The Way UK" had disbanded, and I was feeling a bit old and a bit lost. Feeling the void, I kept trying to put another band together, but would lose the will mid-way through and then blow it up.
In 2004 I bought a new Mac and legit copy of Logic DAW and migrated all my tracks to it. Something went wrong in the process, and I ended up losing most of my work up to that point. It was a shocker and taught me the value of backups the hard way.

All tracks were written and recorded between 2001 and 2004.
